Listening, noticing, cultivating.

Forest Floor Consulting LLC is a culmination of founder Anjali Bidani’s experiences working in multiple workspaces and organizational cultures across industries and her inspiration found in how forests regenerate and evolve over decades and centuries.

I believe organizations skip a vital step before instituting cultural shifts and accompanying trainings.

LISTENING. I work with your organization to apply transformative mediation to conflict - supporting the parties as they work through the conflict at hand.  In the process of that mediation, I am listening and learning the details of what is in the soil of your organization.  From there, I can support leadership in holding listening sessions with employees.   I will summarize the learnings from the listenings, and support the design of a change plan to address the issues both at the forefront and in the background of your organization.  To that end, I will design a curriculum of weekly trainings and daily prompts to support the changes that the organization needs to make in order to be a workplace in which all employees feel valued and cultivated.

NOTICING. As a South Asian woman who has lived her whole life as an outsider in all spaces, South Asian ones included, my superpower is noticing everything about how people engage with one another - in their words, their voices, their spoken and unspoken language.  This skill means I can guide light towards the shadows, to help all address the invisible elephants in the room.

CULTIVATING. The name, Forest Floor Consulting LLC, was inspired by my relatively new learning that the strength of the trees in a forest depends significantly on action that happens underground, at the root level, at the mycorrhizal level, that is between the fungus attached to the roots of the trees that allow the trees to communicate with each other, support each other, warn each other, feed each other.  Every tiny connection between the fungi is an opportunity for trust-building.  I believe organizations and humans within organizations work very similarly, but we haven’t been looking at the soil as hard as we have looked at the tops of the trees.  We’ve measured productivity and success by what we can see above ground, I believe the cultivation of an organization’s forest floor will lead to stronger, more grounded growth and success.
